Which deer hunting rangefinder is the best?
Chloe asked:
Is the Nikon ProStaff 550 or the Nikon 440 rangefinder a better choice for deer hunting (either in Mississippi or South Texas)
Reply:
I had never used a rangefinder until last year. I was on a new lease and did not want to mess up my chances of coming back by blowing a shot so I bought the best binoculars I could find(already have a great scope) and I broke down and bought a “cheapo” Bushnell rangefinder. I can’t remember the model number, but it was the least expensive in the lineup. It worked wonderfully. Every yardage it gave out to 440 yards was verified with my friend’s more expensive model. He was so impressed by it that he bought one for his dad. They go for about $150.
Good Luck and Good Hunting!

I have one and I have yet to actually use it on an actual hunt. They are great for when you are setting up your spot and ranging to landmarks. This is so you can remember if a deer is near the far edge of the field you are watching you know its 153 yards
